Institute of Planetology and Astrophysics of Grenoble, France is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research associate position. The postdoctoral researcher will join our research group working on the MHDiscs (www.mhdiscs.fr) project led by Geoffroy Lesur to work on dynamical and radiative models of protoplanetary disc.

The postdoc is expected to work on protoplanetary discs modeling and planet formation, in tight connection with observers of the institute. The researcher will perform both theoretical and numerical studies of the planet-disc-wind interaction and predict observational signatures of this interaction. Access to a local dedicated cluster and national supercomputers (GENCI) is also provided, if needed. The postdoc will be given the opportunity to supervise PhD students and benefits from the support of computation engineers for specific numerical developments required by the project.

Expected Skills :
• Experience with high performance computing
• Experience with the modelisation of astrophysical flows

Degree : Candidates should have a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related field.

Monthly gross salary : Between 2 617 et 3 729 euros according to profile. Remuneration will depend on qualification and experience.

IPAG is a 150 person Joint Research Unit under the supervision of the CNRS and the University of Grenoble Alpes. IPAG will provide all the necessary resources (office, workstation, scientific environment) to carry out this work within the MHDiscs projet team. The position is funded for 2(+1) by a European Research Council (ERC) consolidator grant and comes with full benefits together with a generous research and travel budget.The candidate will be able to benefit from various social advantages :
