Institute of Planetology and Astrophysics of Grenoble, France  is looking for a candidate for a “post-doctoral” position for a period of 3 years from October 2020.
The candidate will be assigned to the research group of the MHDiscs project (www.mhdiscs.fr) led by Geoffroy Lesur to work on dynamic and radiative models of protoplanetary disks.

The post-doctoral fellow will have to work on the modelling of protoplanetary disks andtheir winds in close liaison with the observers of the institute. The candidate will carry out theoretical and numerical studies of dust transport in magneto-thermal winds observed in these objects. Access to a local computing cluster and national supercomputers (GENCI) are provided if necessary. The post-doctoral student will have the opportunity to supervise PhD students and will benefit from the support of computer engineers for specific numerical developments required by the project.

Skills :
– Experience in high performance numerical computation
– Knowledge in Astrophysical Fluid Modeling

Degree : Candidates should have a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related field.

Monthly gross salary : Between 2 648 and 3 768 euros according to profile. Remuneration will depend on qualification and experience.

IPAG is a 160 person Joint Research Unit under the supervision of the CNRS and the University of Grenoble Alpes. IPAG will provide all the necessary resources (office, workstation, scientific environment) to carry out this work within the MHDiscs projet team.
